Product Update: Generative AI Question Creator, Authoring Flow Improvements, and More Upskilling Features

Hello and welcome back to this little corner of the 360Learning blog!

89% of employees say they are highly motivated to improve their skills in 2023. Now more than ever, it’s important for you to support your employees in their career growth with solid upskilling opportunities. To meet their needs, we’re proud to introduce a set of new features we’ve been working on to help you upskill from within and equip your teams for the next business challenge.

To see all the newest features that will help you get the most out of 360Learning, here is a recap of our product releases.

Take course creation to the next level

Upskilling from within starts with supporting learning needs at the pace of business. We’re excited to bring you two evolutions that will remove the barriers to sharing relevant content:

Introducing our Generative AI question creator

At 360Learning, we know that developing course material that meets the needs of your learners can be tedious and time-consuming - but it shouldn't have to be. That's why we made it our goal to simplify the process of creating and delivering engaging courses.

In order to do that, we’ve created our new AI-powered question generator: a simple, intuitive tool that allows authors within our platform to create custom quizzes with a single click. This new feature is available in beta now!

Here's how it works: simply choose a cheatsheet from within a course and our tool will automatically suggest questions to ask your learners based on the selected content. Once the questions are ready, review and modify them as needed.

With our AI-powered question generator, we've created a more efficient admin experience that's designed to support the needs of both authors and learners alike.

Faster, more accurate search results

We know that search is one of the most important parts of our learners' experience. To ensure users are easily able to find the training they need, and in a timely manner, we have released a new, improved quick search experience that is currently in beta testing.

Our new search algorithm provides users with a unified, modern search experience that helps power up learning by delivering more accurate results in less time. The search engine has also been refined to enhance its ability to process synonyms, handle special characters like spaces and punctuation, and automatically detect phrases in search terms, boosting results based on relevance and frequency of use.

With these improvements, you'll be able to spend less time searching for what you need and more time learning it!

Independent course duplication

As an L&D team trying to get training in front of your learners fast, duplicating courses is a great way to reproduce course content, templatize, and create courses at scale.

You asked, we delivered. Following your feedback, modifying a duplicated course will no longer affect the original version.

Sharing course redesign

“I love triple-checking that my course is available in the right group’s catalog”--said no learning manager ever. Cue in a hassle-free, no-nonsense way to share courses with your groups from the editor. Scroll, click, and voilà!

Automate away enrollment tasks

Take the dread out of assigning training to your learners with dynamic custom audiences. Share the right training with the right audience at the right time–in just a few clicks.

How exactly does it work? Let’s break this down:

  • Use custom fields to slice and dice your learners’ data. You can add unlimited custom fields to learners that reflect your internal data to optimize training assignment, tracking and report building.
  • Zero in on specific learner audiences with powerful and dynamic audience targeting. You can filter by learner and group, and refine your selection with additional criteria, e.g. role, location, or any predefined custom fields.
  • Enroll learners to any training automatically when they meet the defined criteria. Any learners added or removed from the custom group will be automatically enrolled or unenrolled from the session.

Maximizing classroom fill rate is easy with learner RSVPs

It is now possible to view learners’ RSVPs to a classroom invitation directly on the platform. You can see at a glance who has accepted or declined a classroom slot, and easily move any learners who declined to a new classroom slot.

Provide a best-in-class Learning Experience

Email notification customization

Email notifications should reflect your organization’s style, brand, and vibe. Our new custom email branding feature allows admins to set brand guidelines for all email communications from 360Learning, ensuring that email notifications from our platform follow your brand guidelines. Content editing capabilities allow for further customization.

Collaborate in your path sessions

Paths now have session-specific forums for learners and instructors to easily interact! Once enrolled, learners can write posts, start a conversation with other learners, and ask their instructors direct questions. Instructors can switch between sessions to answer questions.

Paths invitation emails are now merged

We’re all in a constant battle to reduce our unread emails. To help with this, you’ll now only receive one email from 360Learning when you’re invited to join a path or multiple paths within a short timeframe. There’s no action needed to enable receiving one email, we will automatically ensure that your path invites are combined. You can access all of your paths from within the body of the email.

Fewer emails boosts open rate and helps learners stay engaged with their learning. It also makes learners less likely to unsubscribe from email communications.

Learning Needs activated by default when you create a new group

Stop guessing which learner’s needs will address performance gaps. Identifying specific challenges and developing short and targeted solutions (rather than drawn-out courses) can be a daunting task. Not to mention managing the prioritization, expertise needed, engagement and completion...

Thankfully, we’ve made this process easier.

Now, when you create a new group, our collaborative Learning Needs feature will be on by default. Learners can flag skill gaps, as well as suggest internal experts they want to learn from. You’ll get a manageable dashboard so you can prioritize and oversee the timely completion of new courses. Who knew asking learners what they need might actually mean less work for you?

Make data-driven decisions

New path statistics for individual paths

We’ve improved the available data when you click on statistics of a path. New filtering capabilities allow you to see path progress, OPCO attestation, scores, certificates, and completion and collaborative learning metrics for the latest attempts of your learners. Customize columns to display whatever data you want. Access individual data to get granular or group data to see the big picture. Access the data you need to make decisions about your learning paths.

Custom Reports Improvements

Accessing and customizing your reports is easier than ever! From the home page, click on the “statistics” bar graph icon in the upper lefthand corner. Create a new custom report, or access your saved reports in just one click. Improved filtering makes it easier to pull the data you need in a timely fashion. Dynamic date ranges mean you can select a specific date range, or a trailing range (such as “last 30 days”). Advanced column selections give you flexibility to add, remove, and rearrange your data before you download, for consistent data every time.

Get more done each day with our integrations

Improved Google Drive integration

During course creation, it's always been easy to drop in resources from anywhere on the web using embed code. Now, we’re introducing the Google Drive file picker to improve security, and reduce the steps required to share a Google Drive file. Authors can embed Google Drive files with improved permission management and fewer clicks.

Enhance course creation with new Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint integrations

Admins can now integrate your files from Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint in 360Learning and keep courses up-to-date. After activating OneDrive in your group settings, you’ll now see the option to embed OneDrive files when creating or editing a course.

Workday user provisioning is here

Admins, say goodbye to the tedious task of manually having to update your Workday users and their data into 360Learning. We’ve updated the Workday user provisioning so that all is needed is a one-time API set-up and then voilà--all data will be automatically synced from Workday into 360Learning.
