Chuze Fitness is dedicated to empowering healthier communities, one act at a time. With a nationwide network of hospitality-focused gyms, Chuze’s mission is more than fitness—it's dedicated to fostering a culture of kindness and connection within their teams and their clients.
Before partnering with 360Learning, Chuze Fitness had a solid “homegrown” learning and development team, but faced significant challenges in streamlining and scaling their L&D processes to meet the demands of their fast-growing organization, thanks to an increasing number of business acquisitions.
Prior to using 360Learning, Chuze Fitness struggled to effectively leverage their subject-matter experts (SMEs) to upskill their full workforce. The experts couldn’t be at all their gym locations simultaneously, which limited the reach and impact of their expertise and made it difficult to ensure consistent training quality across different sites.
Despite this, Chuze Fitness’s L&D team knew that having SMEs champion their learning strategy would add tremendous value. However, enabling experts wasn’t scalable and difficult to manage. Chuze Fitness needed a solution that would allow their SMEs to engage with learners more effectively and provide a richer, more interactive training experience.
Originally, all training materials at Chuze Fitness were manually created from scratch and spread across Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets. The content was basic and straight to the point, but left their learners wanting more.
As the company grew, tracking training completion and performance became a major pain point for them, as documentation in different places led to disorganization and inefficiencies.
At the time, Chuze Fitness was motivating employees to complete training with monetary incentives. However, because manually measuring these statistics was prone to error, it was impossible for the company to accurately compensate employees based on true training completion figures.
Additionally, conducting all their training sessions 1:1 and in-person was costly and time-consuming. This overreliance on in-person training caused some managers to struggle with balancing virtual and live training, even after more digital solutions were implemented.
A large part of Chuze Fitness’s workforce is a younger, tech-savvy demographic. Before adopting 360Learning, the L&D team’s manual training methods relied heavily on static, generic content, which failed to capture the attention of learners who prefer interactive and visually engaging digital experiences akin to social media.
This disconnect resulted in low completion rates and a general lack of enthusiasm for training initiatives. The lack of a centralized, modern learning platform meant that training content often felt disjointed and ad hoc, making it difficult for Chuze Fitness to motivate their employees to fully participate and engage with the material.
As a growing company that was also acquiring other gyms, it became very apparent that the way they were training talent was not scalable. A lack of standardization led to discrepancies in training quality and processes, and even some business operations across different gym locations.
There were significant challenges with verifying how training was being conducted–and therefore difficult to hold trainers truly accountable–along with a constant concern over how to authentically introduce and integrate Chuze’s culture and processes to existing gyms that were newly acquired into the brand.
To support their rapid expansion successfully, Chuze Fitness needed a single source of truth for all their training materials to create a scalable solution that could maintain their unique culture and ensure consistent processes across all their locations–and on top of all that, prove the impact of their L&D efforts.
"Before 360Learning, everything was manual. Now, I can't imagine a world without it. We've brought learning to life for our employees and shown that their L&D team is made up of real people that the rest of the company can interact with. We've become celebrities within our own org!" - Jess Garcia, L&D Manager
Chuze Fitness was looking for a centralized platform that could streamline their training processes, provide accurate tracking, facilitate the sharing of expert knowledge at scale, and engage their young, tech-savvy workforce.
They needed an LMS that was user-friendly, customizable, and capable of supporting their growing needs. After evaluating several options, including Docebo and SparkLearn, they chose 360Learning for its engaging interface, ease of content creation, and robust data analytics.
“We knew that with pretty much any LMS there would be stats and data, but we wanted a platform that felt like Chuze. We have a younger workforce and we wanted something that is going to draw their attention and have a high adoption rate.” - Carissa Ouellette, Director of L&D
The transition to 360Learning marked a significant turning point for Chuze Fitness. The platform allowed them to create a single source of truth for all training materials, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all locations–but also to develop and grow a robust learning culture.
The implementation process was smooth, thanks to the dedicated support from the 360Learning team.
"There was something different about the way we felt with the team at 360Learning. The culture felt similar to ours and we could tell that everyone had a lot of passion and care for their role—regardless of whether they were tech or sales or support, they were enthusiastic about what they were doing. It was love at first pitch for us at 360Learning." - Carissa Ouellette, Director of L&D
Chuze Fitness now utilizes 360Learning and its advanced mobile solution for a wide range of training needs, including onboarding, employee development, manager training, compliance training and soon, specialized training for different departments.
The platform's flexibility allows them to tailor training programs to specific roles and requirements, ensuring that all learners receive relevant and impactful training. The L&D team have also created a training request intake form to help them manage the increase in training requests that they’ve received since implementing 360Learning.
One of the most notable changes with 360Learning is the increased engagement and collaboration among employees. Front-line employees can now easily interact directly with the corporate office, which has strengthened a sense of connection and community at Chuze Fitness.
This has also built greater visibility for the L&D team, who joke that they’re “Chuze Celebrities” when learners recognize them from videos in their training content.
360Learning’s familiar social media features like emojis and GIFs resonate well with their younger workforce, making training sessions more engaging and enjoyable.
“The biggest success is information retention. My new hires are used to this type of learning, so the details no matter how big or small seem to stick better.” - Club manager, Chuze Fitness
With 360Learning’s extensive in-depth reporting tools, Chuze Fitness can now reliably track all training completion and performance across groups, users, courses, paths, and more. All from a centralized reporting dashboard.
This data-driven approach allows them to focus on and align with strategic business priorities, as well as incentivize training completion more effectively and hold employees accountable.
The platform's intuitive dashboard and analytics tools provided insights into training effectiveness and business impact, facilitating better decision-making and greater stakeholder buy-in.
As the pioneer in collaborative learning, 360Learning has enabled Chuze Fitness to unlock and share the knowledge of their internal subject-matter experts at scale: SMEs can now easily contribute to training content and engage with employees across all locations.
With the platform’s interactive tools like in-course discussion forums, subject-matter experts can help boost course completion rates and knowledge retention by answering learners’ questions directly in the training.
And 360Learning’s AI-powered course authoring capabilities enable any team member to effortlessly co-create and refine hyper relevant training courses that address the workforce’s most pressing upskilling needs.
This has not only enhanced the Chuze Fitness learning experience, but also ensured that all employees have access to the same high-quality training, regardless of their location.
While some managers initially resisted the shift to digital training, the user-friendly nature of 360Learning and the evident benefits gradually won them over.
The platform's ability to standardize training and built-in integrations to streamline and sync content creation helped alleviate concerns and demonstrated the value of digital learning solutions.
"Overall, it's been such an amazing experience to be able to have this platform, share it with our teams, and see them enjoy it. It's one thing for our L&D team to love it, but to get amazing feedback has been incredible and quite honestly, shocking. Usually, if there's a big change for our company it's not always received well, but people really love 360Learning." - Carissa Ouellette, Director of L&D

And now, the culture of learning has definitely grown. Everybody wants to be on it and create their training. We've increased learner engagement and expert collaboration, and are now seeing reporting and business impact which is huge." - Jess Garcia, L&D Manager
